THORNTON, Patricia Anne (Parks), age 69, of Dayton, born in Richmond, KY, passed away Sunday, May 6, 2012. She graduated from Dunbar High School, Class of 1960, Eastern Kentucky and Wright State Universities, and attended the University of Dayton. A retiree of the Dayton Public Schools, teaching at MacFarlane Elementary and Middle Schools. Patricia, also, retired as Vice President from the Dayton Urban League after 21 years of service. Preceded in death by her parents, Ovie and Bessie (Embry) Parks. She is survived by her children, Victoria, Jermaine, and David Thornton brother, David F. Parks (Susan) aunt, Mildred Young uncle, Gilbert Embry special cousins, Brenda McKee (Gerald) & Catheryn Young a host of other family and friends. Funeral service will be held 12 noon Friday, May 11, 2012 at Mt. Olive M.B. Church, 502 Pontiac Street. Rev. Dr. Carlton Williams officiating. Interment West Memory Gardens. Visitation 10 am Friday at the church until time of service. Family will receive friends one hour prior to service. Arrangements entrusted to the HOUSE OF WHEAT Funeral Home, Inc., 2107 N.
