  Alvin WALKER

WALKER,  Alvin James, age 81, of Dayton, died Thursday, May 24, 2012. Born June 24, 1930 in Knoxville, Tennessee to the late George and Anna Walker. He was a 1951 graduate of Dunbar High School. He served in the U. S. Marine Corps and the Korean War, and was a member of the Ohio National Guard. Preceded in death by his wife, Mary Butler Walker brothers, Harold, Florenzo, Edward and Charles Walker sister, Mary E. (Edward) Johnson. He is survived by his son, Antonio (Denetta) Walker brother, Marshall Walker sister, Pat (Jim) Coleman 2 grandchildren a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held 11 am Thursday, May 31, 2012 at the HOUSE OF WHEAT Funeral Home, Inc., 2107 N. Gettysburg Ave. Pastor Ralph Helm officiating. Interment Dayton National Cemetery. Visitation 9 am Thursday at the funeral home until the time of service. Family will receive friends one hour prior to service.
