WOOD, Sr. Rev. Mark Adam, age 88, of Dayton, departed this life Wednesday, June 13, 2012 at Woodglen Alzheimer’s Community. Born in Roopville, Georgia and a Dayton resident for 66 years. He was a dedicated worker for Dayton Press (McCall’s) for 35 years. Later, working for the House of Wheat Funeral Home. He was a member of Mt. Enon Baptist Church for 66 years, serving as Senior Choir President, Chairman of the Deacon Board, member of the Morning Prayer Band and the Board of Christian Education. Preceded in death by his parents, Rev. Spencer and Idella Wood 5 brothers and 4 sisters special nephew. Left to cherish his memory his wife of 68 years, Annie C. Wood daughters, Anita (Larry) Jackson, Catherine Ferguson & Shirley Sanders son, Mark Jr. (Sharon) Wood 10 grandchildren 9 great grandchildren a host of family and friends. Funeral service will be held 11 am Wednesday, June 20, 2012 at Mt. Enon Baptist Church, 1501 W. Third St. Rev. Corey Cunningham officiating. Interment West Memory Gardens. Visitation 10 am Wednesday at the church until time of service. Family will receive friends one hour prior to service. Arrangements entrusted to the House of Wheat Funeral Home, Inc., 2107 N. Gettysburg Ave. The family would like to thank the staff of Woodglen Alzheimer’s Community for their care and support.
