  William Laird

Laird, Jr. William L. ( Billy, Will, or Swill Diamond ), age 32, of Dayton, died in his sleep Sunday, July 1, 2012 at his home. He was born April 10, 1980 at St. Luke's Episcopal Hospital, Harris County, Texas. William attended Trotwood-Madison High School, earned his G.E.D., and attended Sinclair Community College with a focus in Culinary Arts (ServeSafe Certified). Billy was employed in the hospitality/restaurant field for 16 years, working at Bar Louie, SmoQ BBQ, O'Charley's, Smokey Bones, Elmcroft, Applebee’s, The Brunch Club, J.P.'s Red Barn & Grill, and Grindstone Charley’s. Sponsored by SmoQ, Billy started his own BBQ catering business in 2011. Like his big brother, Billy had a passion for cooking and shared one of Antonio's favorite pastimes: fishing, which is what he spent his last weekend on earth doing with his sons. Most of all, Billy was known for loving life, making friends, entertaining and enjoying his family. He was an enthusiastic sports fan of the Chicago Bears. William accepted Jesus (Messiah Yahshua) into his heart during his teen years and was baptized at an apostolic church in Youngstown, OH. Preceded in death by his brother, Antonio A. Dean, and his paternal grandmother, Parma Lee Laird. Billy is survived by his children, Christopher James "CJ" Finfrock, Jalen Kahlil Laird, and Auvrionna Alexia "NanNa" Laird mother, Cammie Dean Laird father, William L. Laird, Sr. brother, Justin D. Laird maternal grandmother, Hilda L. Dean paternal grandfather, William Esteen Laird spiritual mother, Mary M. Bratcher spiritual aunt, Sue F. Davis aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, numerous “adopted” relatives, and a host of devoted friends. Thank you all for your love, help, and support. Funeral service will be held 11 am Friday, July 6, 2012 at the HOUSE OF WHEAT Funeral Home, Inc., 2107 N. Gettysburg Ave. Visitation 9 am Friday at the funeral home until the time of service. Family will receive friends one hour prior to service.
